Step into the past at the Pierce Ranch House, where discerning clients can experience the legacy of a Texas gulf coast cattleman’s estate. Located just one hour southwest of Houston, on the Pierce Ranch, this residence originated as the headquarters of Abel Head “Shanghai” Pierce, who lived in the house between 1886 and 1900. The story of his cattle empire is well known to students of Texas History. Today, the Pierce Ranch house and its grounds provide an elegant, welcoming retreat for hunters, business groups, and family events. We hope each of our guests will fall in love with the place our family has cherished for five generations.
There is capacity for up to ten more guests in nearby residences, and up to thirty guests in the rustic KP hunting lodge further down the ranch..
The three acre compound is a private, well-designed setting for corporate retreats/business meetings, family gatherings, or hunting parties. Hog Heaven, once a smoke pit for sides of beef, is now an intimate open-air pavilion for casual outdoor dining, music and stargazing. The Playhouse is a climate-controlled, media-ready space perfect for meetings of up to thirty people; its fully equipped kitchen welcomes guests for cooking exhibitions and seated dinners. Additionally, guests have immediate access to the swimming pool, tennis court, and hike/bike trails. For indoor fun, our Milk House has a bar, pool and poker table.
